The J03 racer in cream — the same reverse horse culatta as the black version, and a considerably rarer thing to find. Culatta comes from the rump of the hide, where the dense sub-surface layer that produces shell cordovan sits; turning it to the reverse exposes that inner structure and gives the matte, faintly chalky surface you see in the photographs. In a pale colour that structure is fully visible: every variation in density across the hide reads as a shift in tone, so the panels are never uniform, and no two jackets are tonally identical.

A cream hide is also an honest material in the sense that it records everything. It marks easily, and it will readily take up colour from anything it sits against — so store it apart from darker garments rather than pressed between them in a wardrobe. Heavier soiling can be lifted with a mild soap solution, and if a mark does set, the leather can be touched in with a dye made for the purpose.

Construction as across the J03 line: raw-edged hems, a floating lining hanging free inside the shell, raw zip welts. Two zip pockets at the waist, zip cuffs, band collar.

Cut slim, and once on it wears like a second skin. We'd suggest taking a size up — your usual size fits, but wears close.
