Specification:

The rarest material in the EIGENGRAU line-up, and worth understanding before anything else. Kangaroo has the highest tensile strength relative to weight of any commercial leather — its fibre bundles run uniformly parallel rather than in the interwoven, variable structure of cow or horse hide. In practice that means a panel can be taken very thin and stay stronger than a much heavier hide, which is why kangaroo is used where strength and lightness cannot be traded against each other.

The tannage is aluminium rather than chrome or vegetable, chosen because it's one of the few processes that yields a genuinely pale, clean cream without the yellow cast chrome tends to leave — while keeping the hide supple rather than boarding it up.

Aluminium tannage is far more sensitive to water than vegetable-tanned leather, so this jacket wants dry care. Brush dust off regularly with a soft suede or short-bristle clothing brush. Lift grease and staining with an absorbent — potato starch or talc — rather than liquid. Never wash or soak it, and never use acetone, alcohol or solvent-based stain removers. Being a pale leather it will also take up colour from anything it sits against, so store it apart from darker garments.

The J05 raglan pattern: no shoulder seam, the sleeve running diagonally to the neck, and a high neckline swept up from the body panels in a single unbroken line. In-seam pockets. Fully lined in tencel. With no shoulder seam there is no fixed shoulder width to fit into, so the pattern accommodates a broader or narrower frame than a set-in sleeve will.

Cut slim, and no roomier than the J03 through the chest — we'd suggest taking a size up; your usual size fits, but wears close.

Returns & Exchanges

Return window: 14 days from delivery. Within that period you may take a refund, or exchange the item or receive store credit if you prefer.
Goods must come back unused, in original condition and packaging. An item returned with signs of wear cannot be sold as new, and the refund may be reduced by up to the full price.
Return shipping is at the customer's expense unless the item is faulty.
Refunds are issued within 14 days of your notice; we may wait until the item is back with us or you provide proof of dispatch.
We offer a 1-year guarantee on all items; repair shipping costs are covered by the customer.
